Sugar
plus extra for rolling (about 1/2 cup)

1 tsp
Vanilla Extract
1/3 cup
Strawberry Jam
or other flavor
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350º F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or spray each with cooking spray.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, salt and baking powder.
In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until combined. Beat in egg and vanilla until just combined. Slowly beat in dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls and roll balls in extra sugar. Place on prepared baking sheets 2 inches apart. Press thumb gently into the center of each ball, about 1/2-inch deep. Fill each thumbprint with about 1/2 tsp jam.
Bake 15 to 17 minutes or until edges are golden. Cool thumbprint jam cookies on baking sheets and enjoy.
