Preheat oven to 350°F. In the bowl of your stand mixer, place the butter, sugar, 1 cup of the whole wheat flour, baking powder and soda.
Start the mixer and while running, add the banana pieces, the rest of the flour and the milk. Mix until fully combined.
Scoop batter into a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan and bake for 50-55 minutes.
Cool whole wheat flour banana bread for 10 minutes, then run a butter knife or small spatula around the edges of the pan to release the sides. Invert over a rack to unmold and allow to cool completely.
