Blueberry Cornbread Cobbler
With a magical combination of our Gluten Free Cornbread Mix and a lemony blueberry filling, this recipe for Blueberry Cornbread Cobbler becomes a creative showstopper. A biscuit topping of cornbread mix, buttermilk, sugar and butter complements the juicy filling and adds texture and richness. The final sprinkle of Coarse Turbinado Sugar ties it all together and makes this 4th of July dessert fit for barbecues of all sorts. If you’re taking advantage of the season’s bounty and using fresh blueberries, make sure to reduce the bake time to 30 minutes. And don’t forget the most important part, the fluffy homemade whipped cream with its hint of vanilla!
Blueberry Honey Cream Sandwiches
These Blueberry Honey Cream Sandwiches are whimsical in appearance as they are in taste! GloryBee’s Blueberry Blossom Honey is known to pair beautifully with cheddar cheese, but when you’re in the mood for dessert, nothing beats these creamy and chewy cookies. We make a “cheater’s ice cream” so that these cookies can be easily transported to backyard barbecues and 4th of July festivities. The cream is a mix of softened cream cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, fresh blueberries, whipped cream and GloryBee Blueberry Blossom Honey. Sandwich this mix in between your cookies and you’re in for a truly delightful and decadent treat.
Berry Chantilly Cake
When it comes to desserts for the 4th of July, it’s hard to resist this light and ethereal Berry Chantilly Cake from Sara Welch of Dinner at the Zoo. This particular recipe utilizes our Organic Unbleached White All-Purpose Flour for a moist and fluffy cake. A berry syrup made with raspberry jam and a frosting of mascarpone and cream cheese give this dessert a uniquely textured twist. Of course, the garnish of mixed berries and mint sprigs create a final dish you’ll be proud to carry into your Fourth of July barbecue.
Cherry Crumb Pie
In this recipe for Cherry Crumb Pie, two of Oregon’s favorites (hazelnuts and cherries) pair up for a nutty and sweet summertime treat. There are three parts to this dessert: a hazelnut crust, cherry filling and hazelnut crumb topping. The crust incorporates our Gluten Free Rolled Oats or Gluten Free Organic Rolled Oats, maple syrup, hazelnut flour, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, salt and melted butter. The filling is a mix of stemmed and pitted cherries, cane sugar, cherry juice, lemon juice and cornstarch, and finally, the crumb topping, which calls for just a cup of the reserved crust mixture, Gluten Free Rolled Oats or Gluten Free Organic Rolled Oats and cold cubed butter. After your mixture is baked and browned with a bubbling cherry filling, let it sit and cool for about an hour before serving. This is the perfect pie to make in the morning then enjoy at your gathering in the afternoon.
Patriotic Protein Pops
There’s nothing that screams Fourth of July desserts more than these adorable Patriotic Protein Pops. They come together with just seven ingredients: canned coconut milk, Whey Protein Powder, Greek yogurt, honey, lemon zest, fresh blueberries and raspberries to create a pop filled with red, white and blue. Not only will these icy treats keep you cool in the height of summertime, but with an added dose of Whey Protein, they’ll also keep you feeling full and happy. Our Whey Protein is a high-quality, complete protein with all of the essential amino acids and because it dissolves instantly, it’s perfect for everything from protein drinks to protein pops!
Roasted Blueberry Ice Cream
This recipe for Roasted Blueberry Ice Cream is indulgent, and also gluten free, lactose free, soy free and vegan! It’s a coconut-milk based via ice cream recipe that’s ripe with the summertime flavors of roasted fresh blueberries! We love 4th of July dessert recipes that incorporate ice cream on top (like pies and cakes) but we really love when the ice cream itself is the star! For a fun backyard barbecue idea, consider setting up an ice cream bar with various homemade ice creams. Both kids and adults will love decorating their scoops with everything from fresh berries to chocolate sauces.
Red Velvet Cake Pops
Cake pops are an easy dessert to travel with and always look festive and fun on the dessert table. If you’re looking for creative variations of dessert ideas for the 4th of July, consider experimenting with these Red Velvet Cake Pops this holiday. These beautiful red-hued bites are made with Organic Coconut Flour as their base, so they’re perfect for gluten free guests (and will be loved by non gluten free guests, too). To make them extra festive, you can opt out of the chocolate coating and use white, blue and red coating, with 4th of July sprinkles to match!
Chiffon Cake
If you love angel food cake, you’ll flip over this recipe for Chiffon Cake! Chiffon cake is a relative of angel food cake, yet it’s richer due to the inclusion of egg yolks alongside the egg whites. This cake serves between 16-18 people, so if you’re attending a large barbecue, you might want to make a few! Use our Gluten Free 1-to-1 Baking Flour as a base then whip, mix and beat from there. Once baked, serve with glaze, powdered sugar, airy frosting, or whipped cream and fruit. To go in line with the theme of Fourth of July desserts, we suggest a mix of sliced strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries.
Seasonal Fruit Galette
This recipe for a Seasonal Fruit Galette comes to Bob’s Red Mill courtesy of Sam Temsah-Deniskin from The Frosted Petticoat. Galettes are super easy to throw together and always make an elegant and fancy addition to the table of desserts. The dough for this galette is made with our Gluten Free 1-to-1 Baking Flour, softened butter, brown sugar, whole milk, salt and egg with a filling of blueberries, blackberries, nectarines, kiwi and brown sugar. Pair this galette with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and you’ll be the hit of the party.
Honey Blackberry Pie
When it comes to festive Fourth of July desserts, few things are as classic as a traditional pie. This recipe for Honey Blackberry Pie puts a slight twist on an all-American favorite by utilizing Gluten Free Pie Crust Mix and Tapioca Flour for the crust. Combined with fresh blackberries, honey, lemon juice and orange zest, this dessert will keep guests swooning (and going back for seconds) all night. If you’re hosting your own 4th of July soirée this year, you can even opt for a pie bar to give your guests the gift of a selection.
