Todays spotlight is on fellow foodie Nicole Cogan, founder and CEO of NoBread.com. NoBread is a popular blog centered around food and living a gluten free lifestyle. Nicole herself was diagnosed with a gluten allergy when she was just 19 years old. She started NoBread by creating a restaurant guide to highlight some of New Yorks hottest restaurants and the gluten free menu options they had available, as a way to serve an underserved demographic. This was before gluten free really became a thing, which made dining out uncomfortable, to say the least. She often had to share private information with co-workers and restaurant staff about her condition just to order a meal that wouldnt make her sick later. Because of those trials, she created a guide for others that struggled with gluten sensitivity like her, complete with reviews, photos, and customized gluten free menu options that she then expanded from New York to major cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, D.C. and London. However, as Nicole evolved, so did her blog. Now NoBread is focused on sharing her extensive menu of gluten free recipe ideas, highlighting and reviewing different gluten free products, along with a sharing a nice blend of wellness and traveling tips to show that you dont have to be restricted in where you go in the world as someone with special diet needs. These days, not only do you get restaurant guides for some of the hottest cities in the world at NoBread, but you also get the benefit of her personal travels and firsthand reviews of local hot spots all over the country and the many gluten free options that can be found in each of them. NoBread also offers a gallery of vlogs sharing a peeks at a day-in-the-life living gluten free and behind the scenes cooking videos, along with a couple of helpful eBooks that include recipes not shared elsewhere. Her biggest message that she wants to share with her readers is that even though you may have specific dietary needs that can feel restrictive, it doesnt mean you cant live a happy, healthy lifestyle, free of gluten, and still have fun. She believes life is meant to be lived and enjoyed and doing that in a healthy way is all about balance. Her motto is, Just because your life has to be affected, doesnt mean your lifestyle should be. How did you become an influencer/blogger?

I started NOBREAD as a guide for myself, honestly! I never knew what I could and couldn't have when I was out at restaurants, so I used my blog as a resource to store all of the notes I took when I was dining. NOBREAD slowly gained traction as the gluten free movement was getting more attention. One thing led to another and NOBREAD became my dream and a full-time job!

What started your journey into health?

I was never interested in food before then . . . but after my diagnosis, I became infatuated with all things gluten free and the growing health and wellness industry.

Do you follow a modified diet?

I am gluten, dairy, and soy-free! I have a few other intolerances, too, like chickpeas, cashews, and chicken.

What is something most people dont know about you?

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University and worked on Wall Street for 3 years before pursuing my NOBREAD dreams full-time!

What is your favorite BRM product?

What is your favorite BRM recipe?

One tip for finding time to cook and bake amidst a busy schedule?

I try to cook all new recipes on one day! And what I don't plan to eat at that moment, I store or freeze for the future.

Oats person or a smoothie person?

Smoothie, but recently super into oats!

Any exciting announcements or plans for your Instagram or blog this year?

I launched my YouTube channel, NicoleCogan, and I am in the process of launching my second E-Book, The NOBREAD reBOOT. I also have big plans for products and books!

What do you like to do when you arent working on recipe creation?

I love the beach, hiking, traveling, trying new restaurants and spending time with friends.

Thanksgiving! Fall recipes are my favorite.

What is your top baking tip?

Always add chocolate. ;)
