Influencer Spotlight: Robin Clement

Crafter, baker and writer Robin Clement has a magical relationship with food. After discovering her love of baked goods while working at the Walt Disney Company, she started her baking journey determined to find delicious gluten free desserts that she could create herself. Upon trying a few recipes that she liked, she then began to develop enchanting dessert recipes of her own. Her "life is what you bake it" motto and passionate personality lead her to explore additional projects like DIY watercolor cookies and macrame. Now following a modified diet, Robin works hard to create delicious recipes for gluten free and dairy free desserts daily. Learn more about Robin from our interview below, and don't forget to check out all of her delicious treats on her Instagram page.

How did you become an influencer/blogger?

It all started with a mouse. At The Walt Disney Company, I developed magical recipe content alongside talented creators. This sparked my love of baking. Since then, I've created my own magic in the kitchensharing delicious gluten-free treats.

What started your journey into health?

After recognizing that I didn't feel great after eating gluten, I cut it out of my diet. This meant more baking, since finding good gluten-free desserts can be challenging. And it's been so rewarding! Plus, I feel way better.

Do you follow a modified diet?

Oh, do I! I'm gluten-free, dairy-free (except for cheese, because CHEESE!) and try to limit foods high in acidlike tomatoes, mint, coffee, wine and chocolate (the last being nearly impossible).

What is something most people don't know about you?

I'm allergic to the things I like most in life: dogs, flowers and gluten.

What is your favorite BRM product?

Hands down, my fave product is the Gluten Free 1-to-1 Baking Flour. When I made my first gluten-free dessert, it was 100% a fail. But then I tried Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free 1-to-1 Baking Flour and it's been smooth sailing. There's such a great mix of flours and xanthan gum for the perfect consistency!

What is your favorite BRM recipe?

I recently discovered The Banana Diaries' vegan chocolate chip cookie recipe and had to try it using the Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free 1-to-1 Baking Flour and bittersweet chocolate chips. First of all, I could eat the dough, worry-free. The cookies came out crispy on the outside and super soft on the inside. And, my husband (with no dietary restrictions, mind you) said they're the best cookies he's ever had. Perfection achieved!

Tip for finding time to cook and bake amidst a busy schedule

I always wanted to be the type of person who meal prepped on Sundays for the week ahead but was too intimidated. It just felt hard. What helped was finding a handful of go-to recipes that didn't involve a ton of prep or ingredients. (Also using foods you can mix and match cuts down on the cost!) Start small and try a recipe here or thereand as soon as you know it, you'll have your tried and true dishes and realize how much of a time-saver it is. The same goes for baking. Start with easier recipes and try to enjoy the processnot just the end result! Turn on some music and have fun with it. You got this!
