Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 2 Egg Yolks well beaten
  • 1-3/4 cups Whole Wheat Pastry Flour or Organic Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Sea Salt
  • 2 Egg Whites stiffly beaten
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1-1/2 cups Buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Sift dry ingredients together. Set aside.
  2. Combine and beat the egg yolks, buttermilk and vegetable oil.
  3. Add egg mixture to the flour mixture, blend.
  4. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites.
  5. Bake in preheated waffle iron until golden. Reheat waffle iron before putting another waffle in each time. Serve with butter and honey or pure maple syrup.
