New York-Style Pizza Dough
at room temperature after overnight rise
¼ cup
Olive Oil
¼ cup
Butter, melted
¼ cup
minced Garlic Cloves (about 12 cloves)
½ tsp
Kosher Salt
¼ tsp
Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
¼ cup
finely grated Parmesan or Pecorino Cheese
¼ cup
minced Parsley
Instructions
Divide dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece of dough into a 5–6-inch rope. Tie a simple knot at the center of each rope and tuck the ends underneath. Cover and let rise until puffy, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, place a baking stone (if using) in the oven and preheat oven to 550°F.
Place knots on a baking pan or directly on the baking stone and bake until golden-brown, 10–12 minutes. While the knots bake, combine oil, melted butter, garlic, salt and red pepper flakes (if using) in a large bowl. Immediately place the hot baked knots in the garlic mixture and toss or gently stir to thoroughly coat. Add grated cheese and minced parsley and toss or gently stir again. Serve warm or at room temperature.
