Kamut Cereal Cooking Instructions

Our organic Kamut® cereal is freshly milled from golden Kamut® brand Khorasan wheat, an ancient grain from Egypt, to create a smooth, creamy porridge with a rich, nutty flavor. It makes a deliciously satisfying hot breakfast cereal that is a good source of fiber and iron.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Water
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Organic Kamut® Cereal

Instructions

Stovetop
  1. Bring water and salt to a boil. Slowly whisk in cereal, reduce heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand 2 minutes.
Microwave
  1. Combine ¼ cup cereal, ¾ cup water and a pinch of salt in a microwave safe bowl. Stir well. Microwave on high for 1–2 minutes, or until water is fully absorbed, stopping every 30 seconds to stir. Let stand for 2 minutes. Makes 1 serving.
Slow Cooker
  1. Combine 3 cups water, ½ tsp salt and 1 cup cereal in a slow cooker. Stir well. Cover and cook on low for 3–4 hours or high for 1–2 hours. Stir well and serve. Makes 4 servings.
Multi-Cooker
  1. Combine 3 cups water, ½ tsp salt and 1 cup cereal in the pot of a multi-cooker. Cover and set the valve to sealing. On manual setting and high pressure, set for 2–3 minutes. Natural release the pressure for 10 minutes. Stir well and serve. Makes 4 servings.
