Instructions
Preheat oven to 325°F. Oil an 8-inch square baking pan and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, melted butter or oil, and water. Add brownie mix and stir until combined. Pour batter into prepared baking pan.
Drizzle peanut butter over brownie batter in the pan. (If peanut butter is too thick to drizzle, microwave until soft, about 30 seconds.) Drag a spatula or butter knife through the pan, creating deep swirls of brownie batter and peanut butter. Sprinkle chopped peanut butter cups (if using) over the top of the peanut butter brownies and gently press into the batter.
Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean, 40–45 minutes. Let cool for 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
