Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Mix the yeast with 1/2 cup warm water and set aside.
  2. Combine the flours, salt, milk powder and sugar in a large bowl. Stir in cardamom and salt and set aside.
  3. In a separate large bowl mix the eggs, butter, cooked oatmeal, remaining water and milk. Mix in the yeast mixture.
  4. Slowly add the dry ingredients and mix until it makes a ball. Knead thoroughly adding white flour as needed.
  5. Place in a greased bowl and cover. Let sit until doubled in bulk. Punch down, cover and let rise again until doubled in size.
  6. Shape into two loaves and bake in greased loaf pans. Bake at 350°F for approximately 45 minutes. Makes 2 large loaves.
