Everything Bagel Seasoning
Combine 3 teaspoons onion flakes, 3 teaspoons sesame seeds, 3 teaspoons poppy seeds, 2 teaspoons garlic granules and 1 ½ teaspoon kosher salt. Add green onions.
In a small bowl, stir together the remaining onion flakes, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic and salt. This mixture will be used for the top of the bread.
Quick Bread
Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter and flour an 8 ½ x 4 ½-inch loaf pan.
Combine flour, kosher salt, baking soda and baking powder in a medium-sized bowl. Whisk for 30 seconds.
In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and whisk until thoroughly combined, then whisk in sour cream. Let the wet ingredients sit for 5 minutes.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix with a silicone spatula until thoroughly mixed. The batter will be slightly lumpy, but that is okay. Don’t try to make the batter smooth or you will overmix, and the bread will be tough.
Spoon ⅓ of the batter into the pan and use an offset spatula to smooth it into the corners. Sprinkle ½ of the green onion mixture over the batter. Spoon ⅓ of the batter into the pan, smooth it with the spatula and sprinkle with the other half of the green onion mixture. Add the remaining ⅓ of the batter, smooth it into the corners and sprinkle with the remaining seasoning mix.
Bake for 50–55 minutes, rotating after the first 25 minutes, until a long skewer inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean with no more than a few crumbs clinging to it. Or use an instant read thermometer, it should register 200–205°F in the center.
Remove from oven and cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and place on a cooling rack. Serve plain or with butter or cream cheese.
