  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • 1 Tbsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 2 1/2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • Medium Grind Cornmeal for dusting
  • 1/4 cup Pizza Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Pepper Jack Cheese shredded
  • 1/4 cup Canadian Bacon cubed
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Pineapple cubed
  • 6-8 Fresh Basil Leaves for garish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F with a pizza stone.
  2. In a large bowl add in the water, salt, olive oil, honey, yeast and whole wheat flour and mix completely with a spoon.
  3. Place the dough on to a clean surface and knead for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Take the dough and place it into a large bowl. Cover with a towel and let it rest until it has doubled in size, 40-60 minutes.
  5. Once it has doubled in size, place it onto a pizza peel that has been lightly dusted with cornmeal, and form the dough to make a large pizza dough crust by stretching and pulling it.
  6. Add on the pizza sauce making sure to leave a ¼” to ½” inch around the outside for the crust. Evenly sprinkle on the cheese and then the Canadian bacon and pineapple.
  7. Bake it in the oven on a pizza stone or sheet tray for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown on the outside and the cheese is melted.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, slice and serve hot.
